REAL LIFE has two annual events coming up this fall that help continue its work in creating pathways to thriving and surviving communities for those who are looking for life-long change.
Beyond Gun Shots: Pathways to Safer Communities
Its second annual conference, Beyond Gunshots – Pathways to Safer Communities, is designed to foster a dialogue around strategies that address the violence epidemic we face in Virginia and beyond. This year’s conference will be hosted at Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg on Sept. 29-30, from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
You can get a sneak peek at the agenda here, which covers topics like survivor’s guilt and staff fatigue in the public safety sector, and you’ll hear personal stories and real-life advocacy work from groups like UVA.

REAL Life’s 2nd Annual Golf Tournament
On a lighter note, REAL LIFE is also holding a golf fundraiser on Monday, Oct. 2 at The Lakeside Park Club from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Kicking off the tournament is a rubber duckie drop, straight out of the sky. A helicopter will drop 150 numbered ducks, and the duck that lands closest to the hole will get a $1,000 cash prize (and the biggest loser will also get a consolation prize).
