Playhouses with Purpose: Henrico CASA Unveils 5th Annual Home for Good® Exhibit

In honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month, Henrico CASA is back for its 5th annual Home for Good® fundraiser playhouse event, in which seven one-of-a-kind luxury playhouses will be showcased from April 25 to May 11.

These playhouses all share the theme “Enchanted Childhoods” and will be on display online and in person at Short Pump Town Center and Libbie Mill Library. The theme is a reminder that, for the up to 400 children Henrico CASA serves each year, childhood has not always been a fairytale.

“While we can’t change the past for these children who have experienced abuse and neglect, we can ensure that this is not how their stories end,” says Jeannine Panzera, executive director of Henrico CASA. “With CASA’s support, these children have the chance for a brighter future – one with safety, stability and the opportunity to thrive.”

Now through May 11, online and in-person viewers have the chance to win one of the playhouses with a $10 donation.

This year’s playhouses were built by The Branch Group, Classic Construction, DPR Construction, Loughridge & Company, Urban Core Construction,W.M. Jordan Company and Henrico Public Schools Career and Technical Education students. More than 50 local businesses lend support through sponsorships, including two key sponsors: QTS Data Centers and Liesfeld Contractor. Since 1994, Henrico CASA has served more than 4,000 abused and neglected children referred by the Henrico Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. Home for Good® has become a signature fundraiser for the organization, raising $400,000 over the past four years.
