Richmond Ballet Spreads the Love with the Virginia Premiere of ‘Cinderella’

Looking for a romantic way to spend Valentine’s Day weekend? Richmond Ballet’s Virginia premiere of Ben Stevenson’s “Cinderella” on Feb. 14-16 at Dominion Energy Center promises an unforgettable evening of classical music, dance and enchantment. A perfect way to celebrate both love and art in time for the holiday.

This marks the first performance of Stevenson’s “Cinderella” by the Richmond Ballet and anywhere in Virginia. The captivating choreography will be accompanied by Sergei Prokofiev’s magnificent score, performed live by the Richmond Symphony.

Stevenson’s “Cinderella” is known for elevating the classic story with elegant choreography and dynamic storytelling. Since its premiere, the production has become a beloved favorite performed by major ballet companies around the U.S. and abroad.

“The production is both beautiful and joyful, with so many moments of magic, elegance and humor,” said Ma Cong, artistic director of Richmond Ballet. “I am thrilled to now bring this version of Cinderella to Richmond for the first time and share it with our community.”

Showtimes start Friday evening for the idyllic Valentine’s Day date, with four more running through Sunday. Tickets range from $25-$150 and can be purchased online at etix.com, by phone at 804.344.0906 x224 or in person at the Richmond Ballet Box Office.
