‘Mrs. Maisel’s’ Mother-in-Law Coming (Home) to Richmond

A fan favorite of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has to be Joel’s hilarious mother Shirley, who was portrayed flawlessly by Richmond native Caroline Aaron. The former Miss Caroline Abady will be making her triumphant return to the RVA on March 16 during a special presentation at the Weinstein JCC. Fittingly, the event is called “A ‘Marvelous’ Evening with Caroline Aaron.”

Beyond her turn on Amazon Prime’s “Maisel,” Mrs. Aaron may be recognized for her big screen appearances dating back more than 40 years, including roles in Woody Allen’s Crimes and Misdemeanors, Deconstructing Harry, Sleepless in Seattle, 21 Jump Street and its sequel, 22 Jump Street.  On television, you may recognize her for stints on Modern Family, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Monk, Grey’s Anatomy and many others.  Most recently, Ms. Aaron has joined the cast of the Israeli/American crossover comedy Chansi starring Henry Winkler.

Ms. Aaron’s appearance is part of the Adolf-Adams JCC Forum Series at the Weinstein JCC.  Tickets are available online and are $40 for members/$50 for nonmembers. The event begins at 7:30 p.m.
