Annual Virginia Czech and Slovak Folklife Festival returns for an eighth year

Kolaches, kielbasa, goulash – oh my! The Prince George County Regional Heritage Center is hosting the eighth annual Virginia Czech and Slovak Folklife Festival on Saturday, Oct. 15. The event will happen rain or shine at the Heritage Center (6406 Courthouse Road, Prince George) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“The Virginia Czech and Slovak Folklife Festival offers a fun and family-friendly opportunity to experience the unique culture and cuisine of the Czech Republic and Slovakia,” said Carol Marks Bowman, executive director of the Prince George Regional Heritage Center. “We invite families throughout the commonwealth to join us in beautiful Prince George County for a day of great food, music, traditional dances and more. Make sure to visit the European Christmas Market and the many children’s activities while you’re here!”

Visitors to the festival can expect:

  • Authentic Czech and Slovak polkas and waltzes
  • Cabbage rolls and homemade kolaches as well as kielbasa
  • Czech Angel Wings
  • Beer
  • Mulled Wine
  • Traditional dress
  • Farm animals
  • Cultural artworks
  • Live music
