A celebration is in order for 10 graduating students supported by United Methodist Family Service (UMFS). And AMA Richmond is working to raise funds and purchase gifts to ensure these well-deserving students get the celebration they deserve.
UMFS is a nonprofit that provides a comprehensive array of programs to meet the needs of high-risk children, teens and families to enable them to overcome challenging circumstances and succeed. Services include foster care, adoption services, residential treatment and more.
UMFS will have 10 seniors graduating in June from both the Richmond and Edinburg Charterhouse Schools, a specialized education school that helps students reach their goals. These students have shown their strength and resiliency, learning more effective and productive ways to heal, and are now ready to graduate and take their next steps forward.
AMA Richmond is a nonprofit professional organization that brings marketing professionals together to enhance their skills and network. To help those graduating seniors celebrate their accomplishments, AMA Richmond has launched a drive to collect donations and gifts. AMA Richmond’s community relations committee collected special requests and career goals from each student to ensure graduation gifts not only were customized but supported students’ career paths.
“Our students come to us from a variety of backgrounds – biological, home, group home, adoptive home and residential treatment,” said Lisa Nicoll, volunteer manager at UMFS. “They have worked hard to complete their education and we are so thrilled AMA Richmond is helping to celebrate their accomplishment!”
Student requests range from educational books and materials on trade industries, farming and cosmetology to work boots, snacks and gift cards for gas.
Now through Friday, June 4, you can contribute a general donation to this service drive here or fulfill a specific request from students by purchasing items directly on this Amazon Wishlist.
